OREIGN  LANGUAGE  CURRICULUMS

¡Jesús te Ama! PictureMost Foreign Language programs attempt to teach by stressing grammar rules, and memorizing lists of vocabulary. Unfortunately, this doesn't work. Even after three years of High-school language, most students can't communicate.

These curriculums start by teaching Phonics in the language, to gain proper pronunciation. Once the pronunciation is down, communication is taught through usable phrases, both for Christian witnessing, and real-life situations. This teaching method more closely resembles the way that a child is taught to speak their first language. It has been proven effective for all ages.

Each curriculum is over 100 pages long and comes complete with the answer key, teachers guide, enrichment activities, and five 90 minute cassette tapes.

By the time the student has completed any of these first year courses, they are ready to witness on a short-term missions trip, or minister to foreigners in their own church and community.  As a ministry tool, these courses are unique in their content and methods.

Course Concentrates on:

  • Pronunciation through Phonics

  • Biblical Vocabulary

  • Conversations with an Evangelistic Thrust

  • Sharing the Plan of Salvation

  • Reading with a Bilingual Bible

  • Works for any age student

  • Equivalent to 1 High School credit (although it works great with students as young as the second grade).

  • Practical Grammar. This course teaches through practical application, not memorization of grammar rules.

Curriculum Includes:

  • 100+ page worktext

  • Answer key

  • Teacher guide

  • Enrichment activities

  • Five cassette tapes.

(these sample pages are representative of all the first year language curriculums)

This is page 26 from Bible Spanish 1 (sample 1 of 4).  At this point, the student has already completed the phonics part of the course, and knows the proper way to read, and pronounce the language.  All the words contained on this page (except for those at the top, where we've given definitions) are cognates.  Cognates are words that sound similar in both languages.  So, the student will understand the words, even without having to learn them.

By starting the student communicating with cognates, we help them start using the language quicker, and easier.  On this page, the student is making basic sentences, such as: "El mosquito es muy horrible."  They are learning basic sentence structure without having to memorize grammar rules, and actualy have something they can start speaking to others.

This is an answer key page from Bible Spanish 1 (sample 2 of 4).  There are exercise pages throughout the curriculum, allowing the parent to see how the student is doing.  The answer key is included for all the exercise pages.

Since many of our customers are homeschooling families, we have given permission in the copyright notice for the owner of the book to copy the exercise pages for direct family use.  This prevents having to purchase one book for each student in the family.

This is a sentence page from Bible Spanish 1 (sample 3 of 4).  The last half of the book is all sentences and phrases.  In actual conversation, this is what you use, not individual words.  By teaching with sentences and phrases, the student:

  • Remembers it faster

  • Remembers it longer

  • Has something he/she can communicate with right away

  • Learns grammar the way a child learning their first language learns it, by hearing it done correctly

There are sentence pages for basic conversation, survival Spanish, witnessing, praying for people, for everything a student should need on a short-term missions trip.

This is a dialogue page from Bible Spanish 1 (sample 4 of 4).  Every time we give the students new sentences and phrases to learn, we follow it up with dialogues.  This allows the student to practice using the language they are learning.  By putting several of these together, you can actually use them as a puppet play.

Bible Spanish 2

Bible Spanish 2 will pick up where Bible Spanish 1 left off, training the student how to minister in Spanish. The student will continue to increase his knowledge of Spanish, learning additional phrases, vocabulary, and sentence structure.

The theme of Bible Spanish 2 is discipling the people you witnessed to in Bible Spanish 1. To do this, we have included several teaching outlines, of basic tenants of Christian faith. These will allow the student to actually teach and preach to Spanish speakers. Outlines include:

  • · Prayer and Fasting

  • · Tithes and Offerings

  • · Water Baptism

  • · Praise and Worship

A student who has completed both Bible Spanish 1 and Bible Spanish 2 will have a solid grasp of the Spanish language, being able to communicate effectively in a number of situations. These books have been written not only to learn the language, but to prepare for missions work.

Bible Spanish 2 is 110 pages long, and comes with the teacher’s guide, answer key, and six cassette tapes.

Russian

The Russian language uses the Cryllic alphabet instead of our Roman alphabet. For many English speakers, this becomes one of the biggest obstacles in learning the Russian language.

This innovative new book shows you step-by-step how to read in Russian. Using picture memory aids, and cognates (words that are similar in both languages), you will quickly grasp the proper sounds for the Russian language.

Comes as a 45 page workbook with two cassette tapes.
